'Modern Family' star Ariel Winter's guardianship case resolved

Ariel Winter of Modern Family fame’s guardianship case has been resolved, with an agreement being reached just before a trial would be set over the actress, 16, living with her older sister instead of her mother Chrisoula "Crystal" Workman, who was accused of emotionally and physically abusing her daughter.

Winter has been living with her adult sister since 2012, as the abuse claims were being investigated.

Winter’s father, Glenn Workman, did try and get guardianship of his daughter, but ultimately she will live with her sister Shanelle Gray and her father will have control over her finances until she turns 18.

A report from child protective services deemed physical abuse evidence was inconclusive but signs of emotional abuse were found.

“I have never abused my daughter," Workman claimed in court on Monday, AP reports.

She agreed to relinquish her parental rights as long as Winter watched home videos of the family, which Gray’s lawyers tried to stop but a judge ruled it’s public record in California.
