For anyone hoping that Nicolas Cage’s decision to star in David Gordon Green’s Joe meant that he wanted to take on more serious work, Cage will have to apologize. He’s going back to outrageous, violent, straight-to-home video movies with Rage.
In Rage, Cage is a retired criminal whose daughter goes missing, taken by some Russian baddies. Although he tells police officer Danny Glover that he’s “out of the game,” that only lasts a second before Cage enlists some friends to go blow the sh*t out of some mobsters.
“Just how deep do you want this to go?” one friend asks. “In deep as hell,” he responds.
According to Indiewire, this film was once called Tokarev, but we can guess that a producer decided to just name it after the one emotion Cage shows throughout the trailer. It was directed by Paco Cabezas and also stars Peter Stormare.
Check out the trailer below. It doesn’t say when the movie opens in theaters, but it probably won’t be long before it shows up on DVD or Video On Demand.
