Paul McCartney postpones Tokyo concert after getting sick

By Kyle Johnson,

Paul McCartney was forced to cancel a concert set for Saturday night in Tokyo after coming down with an illness, but plans on making it up to fans just a couple days later.

In a post made on the legendary singer's Facebook page, he noted that he was sick with a virus and couldn't play the originally scheduled concert. "I've been told not to perform tonight. I am very sorry to all my fans as I was greatly looking forward to the concert."

To make up for the cancellation, the former Beatles singer said that he will instead be performing on Monday, May 19 at the National Stadium.

According to The Associated Press, tickets to Saturday night's show will still be honored at the Monday show, but fans can also opt for a refund.

McCartney has two more dates set in Japan before he heads elsewhere. On Wednesday he plays at the Nippon Budokan hall in Tokyo and then he travels to Osaka to perform at the Yanmar Stadium Nagai. He has a show in Seoul before heading back the United States.
