Ray Winstone has joined the recently contracted cast of the Alcon Entertainment's Point Break remake.
The veteran British actor will play the role of Pappas, who was originally played by Gary Busey in the Kathryn Bigelow film, reports Deadline.
The Sexy Beast actor most recently appeared in the biblical film Noah and is in the upcoming Sean Penn, Idris Elba and Javier Bardem film The Gunman.
Alcon wants to begin production on the Point Break remake, but first will need to find a new Bodhi after Gerard Butler dropped out a couple days ago, citing creative differences and scheduling conflicts. Filming would have clashed with Butler's work for London Has Fallen.
Point Break's filming schedule is expected to last several months and feature many international shooting locations, which would have made it difficult for Butler to make it for a fall London shoot start date for Fallen.
The role of Johnny Utah, originally played by Keanu Reeves, for Point Break will be played by Luke Bracey. The remake of the 1991 hit film will be helmed by Ericson Core.
