Bravo’s Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks’ husband, Apollo Nida, has plead guilty to mail, wire and bank fraud.
Nida, whose wife is ironically an attorney, admitted to defrauding $2.3 million from financial institutions and government agencies.
According to Atlana Journal Constitution, if found guilty, Nida faces up to 30 years in prison on top of hefty fines and restitution. Gayla St. Julien, who Nida worked with to carry out these crimes, got a 61-month prison sentence.
Nida admitted he had a nervous breakdown and felt pressure to “sustain a lifestyle” he portrayed on reality television, especially since his wife makes more money than he does.
“I got sucked in and engulfed and lost sight of things,” he said. “It’s my fault at the end of the day.”
TMZ reports Nida stole the identifies of over 50 people in his elaborate scheme.
Nida and Parks have two children together. Nida’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for July 8.
