The Rolling Stones resumed their world tour Monday night in Oslo after a two month hiatus to mourn the death of Mick Jagger’s girlfriend, L’Wren Scott.
Following Scott’s suicide, Jagger posted a brief statement to Facebook, stating, “I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way.”
Jagger did not mention Scott during the Oslo concert, according to Reuters.
During their Monday night concert, the band performed hit songs “Satisfaction,” “Brown Sugar,” and “Sympathy for the Devil.”
Over 20,000 tickets to the band’s first stop at Telenor Arena on their 14 On Fire tour sold out among their Norwegian fans within 13 minutes, reports AFP.
The Rolling Stones are set to headline the Rock in Rio Festival in Lisbon on Thursday before hitting Zurich, Tel Aviv, the Pinkpop Festival in the Netherlands, Berlin, Paris, Vienna, Rome, Stockholm, and more. Australia tour dates begin in October.
Previously postponed tour dates have been updated on the band’s website.
