Show creator Nic Pizzolatto talks Season 2 of 'True Detective'

By Marcina Zaccaria ,

Fans are gearing up for Season 2 of True Detective, the popular series that made a splash last season on HBO.

Creator Nic Pizzolatto explained what fans can expect for the upcoming season. According to IndieWire, Pizzolatto said, “Right now, we’re working with three leads. It takes place in California. Not Los Angeles, but some of the lesser known venues of California and we’re going to try to capture a certain psychosphere ambience of the place, much like we did with season one."

As news about the upcoming season continues to make the news, the rumor mill was circulating regarding Jessica Chastain, and if she would be offered a role in Season 2.

Chastain, who was attending the Cannes Film Festival, denied any rumors. The actress told Variety, “It’s an awkward thing because when all that attention happens — it takes away from whoever plays the role.” She added, “I’m a big fan of the series. I’m going to watch the second season just like I watched every episode of the first.”

Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, stars of the first season, will not be returning.
