TV Ratings: Barbara Walters' '20/20' special, 'Shark Tank' rule night

Against little competition since CBS' shows finished last week on Friday night, ABC easily dominated the evening with a two-hour Barbara Walters retrospective and Shark Tank.

The network averaged a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 8.3 million viewers. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 20/20 special bidding farewell to Walter topped all programs for the night with a 1.6 demo rating and 9.3 million viewers. Shark Tank bowed out of its successful season with a slightly boosted 1.6 rating in the demo.

NBC followed behind with a 1.2 in the key demo and 4.91 million viewers. Dateline improved to a 1.3 in the fast national ratings as did the season finale of Grimm. Hannibal also ticked up slightly on the night to a 0.9 in the demo.

Though CBS aired encores for the night, the network still topped Fox in the demo with a 0.7 rating and a strong 6.07 million viewers, reports HitFic.

Fox barely edged out the CW with a 0.6 in the 18-49 demo and an average audience of 2.01 million viewers. Kitchen Nightmares bowed out ever so slightly up to a 0.9 rating.

The CW followed with a 0.5 in the demo and 1.335 million viewers off improved showings from Whose Line Is It Anyway and Hart of Dixie, which averaged a 0.6 and 0.4 in the demo, respectively.
