Though the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train ride won't be open to park guests for a little while yet, Walt Disney World did show off the upcoming attraction in order to build excitement.
The ride was unveiled at a special media preview on Thursday and reps say it will open "later this spring," reports Bay News 9. Everything involved in the new attraction should prove to be irresistible to anyone visiting Disney World.
Waiting in line is never fun, but the park has made it so you don't have to just stand there impatiently waiting for your turn with an interactive station where visitors can play a jewel washing game via touch screens. As you continue forward towards the ride, designers made it appear you are heading deeper along a forest path and eventually into a mine.
According to USA Today, the ride is designed for families so it features only a few drops, 31 feet to 41 feet, but nothing too wild. The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train offers visitors a mixture of a slow ride mixed with areas where you zoom along in simulated mine carts.
The ride is part of New Fantasyland and is the first new roller coaster at the park in almost 20 years, featuring a better ride system and newer audio and animatronics.
"The ride system is unlike anything we've seen," Disney expert Lou Mongello says. "It looks and acts like a true mine cart while still being accessible enough for kids, parents and the entire family."
