Yahoo executives not happy with Katie Couric due to lack of star power on show

Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer is one of the company's head honchos to question why famous news anchor Katie Couric cannot bring in the big names for interviews.

Couric has been a part of both NBC and CBS reporting the news. She is famous for being a co-host on the Today for many years. However her recent troubles of bringing in superstars for quality interviews has been an issue, according to sources.

After being invited to a company retreat in the Turks and Caicos Islands it was confirmed in April of 2013 that Yahoo was interested in bringing her on board. Late last year, Couric announced she had taken a job at Yahoo for an estimated $6 million a year, according to the New York Daily News.

An unnamed Yahoo employer insisted that all was well. “Katie is exceeding expectations for the amount of time she has to dedicate to Yahoo, with provocative newsmaking interviews, while also doing her TV show.”

Despite some disappointment so far from executives at Yahoo, Couric isn't letting that get her down and some good news for her is that she could even possibly return to temporarily co-host the Today show. Reason being because Savannah Guthrie is on maternity leave, according to the New York Post. This could revitalize Couric on NBC.
