Actor Meshach Taylor, best known for his performance on the popular sitcom Designing Women, has died. The actor was 67 years old.
According to Taylor’s son Tariq and The Los Angeles Times, Taylor was in hospice care with his family when he passed at 10:47 p.m. Saturday night. Taylor’s agent, Dede Binder told The Associated Press, that Taylor died of cancer.
From 1986 to 1993, Taylor portrayed Anthony Bouvier, an ex-convict turned designer, on the popular sitcom Designing Women, a role for which he received an Emmy nomination. Taylor’s other credits include the film Mannequin, Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide, and The Drew Carey Show.
Meshach Taylor’s family publicly announced on his Facebook page that his health had started to decline saying, “Our friends who know and love us, please offer your prayers for his peace and blazing light as he ascends to the heavens.”
Taylor is survived by his wife, Bianca Ferguson, and his four children.
