Actress Amy Adams gives up first-class plane seat to U.S. soldier

By Waleed Khalidi,

Amy Adams was traveling from the Detroit set of Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice to Los Angeles, Friday morning, when she gave up her first-class seat to a U.S. soldier and enjoyed her flight in coach.

Despite the actress trying to keep the random act of kindness under wraps, a fellow passenger, ESPN 2's Jamele Hill, broke the news on Twitter.

"When we were waiting to board, I saw her glance the soldier's way and then she said something to the person she was traveling with," Hill said in an email with Today.com. "Once we boarded, I saw she was in first class. I was upgraded to first class and she was a couple rows behind me. I think she must have said something to the flight attendant, because before we took off she had vacated her seat and the flight attendant brought the soldier to her seat."

A patron in coach was also pleasantly surprised by the five-time Academy Award nominee that sat to his left.

Ernest Owens told Inside Edition, "It was a random act of kindness. She said it was something that she always wanted to do..."

Adams told Inside Edition, who approached her for a statement after the plane landed, that she didn't do this for attention for herself, but for attention for the troops.

You're one class act, Ms. Adams!
