Longtime radio personality Casey Kasem is in critical condition at a hospital in Washington state.
Reuters reported on Thursday that Kasem is being treated for an infected bedsore.
"Mr. Kasem is receiving wound care, intravenous antibiotic therapy, blood pressure support medication as well as treatment for his pain," hospital spokesman Scott Thompson said. "Mr. Kasem is alert, appears comfortable at this time."
The former radio host was hospitalized on Sunday after his eldest daughter, Kerri, showed up at a home he was staying at with paramedics to have him checked out at a medical facility.
The 82-year-old suffers from Lewy body dementia and there has been a continuing legal battle over his medical care between his wife, Jean, and his adult children.
CNN noted that members of his family are flying to Washington to be by his side.
Kasem is one of the most popular radio personalities to ever hit the airwaves. He hosted American Top 40, Casey's Top 40 and was the voice of Shaggy in the Scooby-Doo franchise.
