Country musician Chris Young is currently recovering from surgery due to damaged tendons in his hand. As a result of this surgery he was forced to cancel his performance on June 7 at the CMA Music Festival's evening concert at Nashville's LP Field.
CMT reported that the "Aw Naw" singer recently cut his left hand with a kitchen knife on Thursday while making dinner in his home.
Young underwent surgery on Friday at a local Nashville hospital, which helped repair the damaged tendons in his hand. He was able to leave the hospital on Saturday morning, but because of his surgery he had to cancel his performance at the CMT Music Festival. He was also forced to cancel a four-hour autograph session that had been scheduled for Friday during the Fan Fair X exhibit at the CMA festival.
The festival has not yet found a replacement for Young, but will still feature Sara Evans, Florida Georgia Line, Little Big Town, Darius Rucker and Keith Urban. However, Rolling Stone added that along with Young not being able to perform, Gary Allen has also been sidelined due to vocal issues.
