Community will get a sixth season after all Sony Pictures Television announced on Monday, with the show moving to Yahoo Screen in the fall.
While Hulu didn't pick the show up in the end, it did find a new home online through Yahoo Screen for a 13-episode season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Executive producers Chris McKenna, Gary Foster and Russ Krasnoff are set to return and the main cast, including Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi and Alison Brie, will also be back for another season.
"I am very pleased that Community will be returning for its predestined sixth season on Yahoo," creator Dan Harmon said. "I look forward to bringing our beloved NBC sitcom to a larger audience by moving it online. I vow to dominate our new competition. Rest easy, Big Bang Theory. Look out, Bang Bus!"
NBC cancelled the ratings-starved comedy series earlier this year after another underperforming season. The network has a habit of continuing to support critically popular shows, but apparently had enough this time around.
News then circulated that Sony Pictures TV was shopping around to find a new home, with Hulu reportedly the frontrunner. But the streaming serviced opted to pass, despite a reported interest in reviving the comedy.
The show keeps chugging along and maybe, just maybe it can possibly snag a movie deal as well?
