Cox tweeted news of the engagement Friday with a picture of the couple, and McDaid responded in kind, with both simply noting, "I'm engaged to him," and "I'm engaged to her."
This will be the Cougar Town star’s second marriage, as she was previously married to actor David Arquette for 14 years according to E! News.
Cox and Arquette officially divorced in the May of 2013 and share custody of their 10-year-old daughter Coco, CNN reports.
Cox and McDaid were first spotted together on Nov. 8, and have been publicly dating since December.
Along with being a musician for Snow Patrol, Johnny McDaid has numerous other musical achievements, such as being the lead singer for the band Vega 4 for nine years starting in 1999 and producing tracks for Ed Sheeran. In fact, Sheeran is actually the person who first introduced the engaged couple, according to another article by E! News.
