American Idol runner up David Archuleta has a message for his dedicated fans; "I'm not dead."
Archuleta posted a video message to fans following returning from a mission in Chile with his church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, The Hollywood Reporter reports.
“I’m still here. I’m still alive [and not being] lazy sitting around my house," said Archuleta.
In the video the Idol alumni explained that he had been working on new music and that this upcoming album was going to be created from his control, this way he would not beholden to the "higher-ups" as he used to in the past.
Archuleta also explained that he has been really focused on charity work for the past two years and that he did not want to be apart of the Los Angeles lifestyle because it was disturbing and very self serving.
“It freaked me out. To come back to the entertainment world where it’s all about you and how important you are, and letting everybody know that," Archuleta explained.
He did let fans know that they can expect a new album soon and that he is working with local people to produce the type of musical sound that he is striving for, Carter Matt added.
