'Game of Thrones' actor Pedro Pascal set to star in new Netflix drama

Pedro Pascal may have just left Game of Thrones last Sunday, but he is already signed on to a new drama which premieres next year. EW reports that Pascal has already signed on to drama series, Narcos.

Deadline first announced the news that Pascal is to act opposite Wagner Moura in Netflix’s new drama series. The show is based on the true story of cocaine drug cartels growth and spread across the world while law enforcement makes incredible efforts to catch up with them. The two groups are likely to meet head on in conflict.

The story focuses on Pablo Escobar, played by Moura, a Colombian who is the leader of the cocaine industry and Javier Pena, played by Pascal, a Mexican DEA agent sent over from the US on a mission to find and kill Escobar.

The show will premiere on Netflix in 2015 and will be written by Chris Brancato and directed by Jose Padilha. It is produced by Gaumont and executively produced by Padilha and Eric Newman.
