'Game of Thrones' to visit new region in season 5

By Chris Howcroft,

Game of Thrones just concluded its fourth season Sunday night with a very successful season finale that left fans wanting more. One of the more popular characters from this season was the Prince of Dorne Oberyn Martell, who traveled to King’s Landing to settle past issues with the Lannisters. Season 5 will give us a glimpse of Martell’s homeland.

According to The Huffington Post, it has been confirmed that Season 5 will show Dorne, which is one of the nine regions of the Seven Kingdoms. Dorne has been described as the place where bastards aren’t as disgraced, wine and women are plentiful and where women can receive inheritance.

Writers of the hit series, Dan Weiss and David Benioff, told Entertainment Weekly that there are drafts of every episode for next season and that they will be spending some time in Dorne. People who live there are known for their sexuality, elegant fashion and sun, it seems like Dorne will play a big role in the new season.

Variety reports that they will be filming in Spain in order to capture the appearance of Dorne and the new characters.

Unfortunately, Oberyn Martell will not be there as the result of him being killed by The Mountain during last season. We will get to meet his illegitimate daughters Obara, Nymeria and Tyene, as well as his brother Prince Doran Martell and his youngest son, Prince Trystane Martell.

These will be some of the new characters that will be arriving into the realm for next season and fans of the show can hardly wait to visit the new region of the Seven Kingdoms.
