The popular game Angry Birds is apparently teaming up with Transformers.
According to USA Today, Rovio, the game company responsible for the birds who take revenge on the pigs who steal their eggs, are partnering with Hasbro to do a mash-up of Angry Birds Transformers.
The angry birds will still be going against the egg stealing pigs, only this time they will be disguised as robots.
The companies announced the partnership on Monday and will it include not only a mobile game, but also licensed goods as well as a product line.
Bianca Juti, Rovio’s chief marketing officer, reportedly said, “This mash-up is going to appeal to those who grew up with the brand in the 80s, as well as the fans of the brand today.”
CNET reported the newest app will involve a battle between the usual angry birds and pigs, only they are now called Autobirds and Deceptihogs.
The line Hasbro is planning is called Telepods, which consist of figurines that appear in the app itself when the toy is placed on your smartphone or tablet’s camera.
No release date for the app has been announced, but considering the popularity of the game, it is sure to be a bit amongst Angry Birds players.
