Katie Couric is now Mrs. Molner! The Katie host married John Molner, to whom she had been engaged since last September, in a private ceremony in East Hampton, New York, on Saturday June 21.
"We wanted to keep the wedding just very low-key," Couric told People.
The bride looked flawless in a Carmen Marc Valvo halter gown with Chantilly lace embroidery, which she had reportedly decided to wear just one week ahead of the wedding.
Defying tradition, she had asked Molner for his opinion before deciding. "I hope this isn't bad luck but I actually tried it on for him,” she confessed. "I tried on a number of dresses and I was so busy, I had a crazy spring."
According to E! Online, the ceremony was officiated by a friend of the couple, John Ellis, and was attended only by close friends and family.
The ceremony had many traditional details and included readings by Couric's older daughters, Ellie and Carrie, as well as by Molner's children, Allie and Henry. Couric's youngest daughter also performed a song for the occasion, and Molner's nieces were the flower girls.
