Singer and member of the group Destiny’s Child, Kelly Rowland, had a song called "The Game" leak this week. She will be part of an 11-track album that releases June 10 called Beats of the Beautiful Game. It will be an album inspired to celebrate the World Cup, and Pepsi will sponsor it. Rowland knew right away she wanted to be part of the project because of her personal experiences.
“I was immediately attracted to 'The Game' because I can identify with its theme of overcoming challenges and finding your voice. It’s a very important message and I’m honored to partner with Pepsi on a project that brings the worlds of music, sports, and film together. As an artist—and a huge film and sports fan—it’s been an incredible experience,” said Rowland, reported by Rap-Up.
The video for the song was released earlier today. However, because of copyright infringement, it was taken down right away. It is reported that Spike Lee directed Rowland’s new video, according to Web Pro News.
Rowland has had recent solo success. Even though she is known for being part of Destiny's Child with Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Michelle Williams, she has had hits on her own. One of the most notable hits is a song entitled "Motivation." Rowland plans on releasing a new album titled Talk a Good Game as well.
