Michigan Christian radio host John Balyo has been arrested and faces sex charges for attempting to pay someone to have sex with minors.
According to the New York Daily News, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement were doing an investigation and a connection was found between a human trafficking case and Balyo.
Until his arrest, Balyo worked for WCSG Radio in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He faces a first degree charge of criminal sexual misconduct.
The person he allegedly paid to have sex with minors, Ronald Lee Moser, was arrested earlier this month. Officers found a minor in his home, as well as child pornography. A website he ran led the investigators to Balyo.
According to WZZM-TV, WCSG general manager Chris Lemke stated that Baylo has been “put on indefinite paid administration leave pending further investigation.”
A statement was issued by the radio station’s affiliate, CornerStone University, saying the station no longer had an affiliation with Baylo, notes Fox 17.
Balyo was arrested Friday during a Christian music festival in Gaylord, Michigan, where he was working.
