MTV struck gold this year with the introduction of its brand new teenage comedy Faking It and as the season finale is coming up, it was revealed the show would be back for another season.
The popular program has been given the go ahead to continue the story with a second 10-episode season, reports Deadline. The show has been pulling in about 1.5 million viewers in their main demographic of 12-34-year-olds.
"Faking It has proved to be the perfect companion show to Awkward,” president of programming, Susanne Daniels, said. “We’re excited about Carter Covington’s delicious plans for season two.”
Faking It follows two best friends, Karma (Katie Stevens) and Amy (Rita Volk) who have failed at being popular for years, yet when they are mistakenly ousted for being in a lesbian relationship, the two decide to play along as they reach celebrity status. Now one friend is not really faking it anymore.
Entertainment Weekly reports that the show continues to pull in 90 percent of its audience from its 10 p.m. lead-in show, which is the popular show, Awkward.
