How much do you use your smart phone in a day? Too much? A new app tracks how much you use your smart phone by recording how many minutes you use it each day.
In a blog post, creator of the app, Kevin Holesh, designed the app because he realized he and his fiancée often used their phone instead of actually talking to one another.
“Relaxing meant whipping out our iphones and catching up on the latest happenings in social media....We stopped doing fun and productive things and chose the path of least resistance,” Holesh said.
That is when he decided to act.
An iOS developer himself, he had the perfect idea to help this addiction: Moment. Upon creating the app, he realized he spent 75 minutes a day on his phone. Since learning this, he has set his phone to only use 40 minutes a day.
“Since using Moment, I am starting to crave time without my iPhone now,” Holesh said.
The app was released to the public June 27. The app not only makes you aware of your phone usage, but it also shows the locations at which you access your phone, according to TechCrunch.
Sorry Android users, the app is only currently available for iPhone users.
