Robert De Niro crashes World Cup watch party to see U.S.-Germany game

By Daniel S Levine,

Robert De Niro reportedly showed up at a World Cup watch party on Thursday in New York to catch Team U.S.A. take on Germany. The two-time Oscar winner needed a break from filming The Intern.

An anonymous neighbor told Business Insider that their building got an email from Warner Bros., warning that De Niro was stopping by to see the game.

“Our lead actor, Robert DeNiro, would very much like to watch the World Cup game, today at 12p,” the email read. “Would it be possible to place a small portable satellite on the building rooftop ASAP and run a cable to the street to help facilitate this request?”

Unfortunately for this person, De Niro ended up going to a different house that was open to having him. “We got another email from a neighbor saying he talked to the crew and apparently he found a house of people watching it and joined them,” the person said.

While there is still no video of photo evidence of the party crashing, a source confirmed to Us Weekly that it did happen. “He's a true American. He has no problem hanging, he enjoyed it,” the source told the magazine.

However, we have to tell De Niro - next time you crash a party, make sure there’s some social media addicts around. That’s the way the master, Bill Murray, does things.
