Finally, Carrie Bradshaw is back. Our favorite former Sex and the City star Sarah Jessica Parker is taking on a lead role in a new limited event series called Busted.
The series will adapt Busted: A Tale of Corruption and Betrayal in the City of Brotherly Love, a memoir written by reporters Wendy Ruderman and Barbara Laker about their journey to uncovering a Philadelphia police scandal, according to E! News.
It seems that Ruderman and Laker could not be more excited to see their story hit the small screen. “We’re bonkers out of our minds with glee,” Ruderman told the Philadelphia Daily News.
Parker will be sticking to her on-screen career as a writer in her new role, though not in quite the same realm of journalism that Carrie Bradshaw preferred. Now, we’ll see the former fashionista as an investigative journalist, reported ET Online.
Sydney Kimmel Entertainment optioned the rights to the book and will be taking on the project with Anonymous Content, the production company of HBO’s hit series True Detective.
