Sharon Stone is slamming an Italian tabloid magazine for what she said was, “salacious, unkind, unfounded reporting to be the typical pretense of what passes as 'journalism' today.”
Stone made the comment after Grazia magazine released an article romantically linking her to newly separated actor Antonio Banderas.
Earlier this month, Banderas released a joint statement with wife Melanie Griffith stating, “We have thoughtfully and consensually decided to finalize our almost twenty years marriage in a loving and friendly manner honoring and respecting each other, our family and friends and the beautiful time we have spent together - Melanie & Antonio.”
Since the announcement, Banderas has been romantically linked to several women, however, all the women in question have publicly denied ever interacting with the 53-year-old actor romantically.
The most recently accused, Sharon Stone, denies reports of her and Banderas dating since the split from his wife. According to E! Online, Stone has been a friend of the couple for decades. She said, “Antonio is a brother to me and Melanie has been with me for each and every birth of my three children. They are my family."
Stone’s swift denial of the romance helps quell rumors that infidelity is the cause of Banderas and Griffith’s split. However, fans are still left in the dark as to what caused the split.
According to People, the couple has done extremely well over the years, so money wasn’t their reason for separation either.
Unfortunately, the couple’s financial stability does not inhibit tabloid magazines from publishing stories filled with rumors.
