Baby. Sporty. Posh. Scary. Ginger. If those five names don’t mean anything to you, you obviously don’t know the Spice Girls, one of the best girl bands in history. Their pop music is legendary and catchy. The Spice Girls are practically the voice of the nineties. There were Spice Girls dolls, music and even a movie. The Spice Girls are amazing. Picking 10 songs was a hard task, but they have been collected and put on this list.

The Spice Girls were made up of Mel Brown ( Scary Spice), Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), Melanie Chisholm (Sporty Spice) and Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice). Each of the girls were their own personality and had equal amount of time in the spotlight.

The Spice Girls released have released five albums: Spice, Spiceworld, One Hour of Girl Power, Forever and Greatest Hits. The Greatest Hits had no new material, it just had their greatest hits. Forever only had Posh, Scary, Sporty and Baby Spice because Geri Halliwell had left the group.

All of the Spice Girls reunited in 2012 for the Summer Olympics and for a new stage adaption of their songs for a show called “Viva Forever.” While the show was eventually cancelled, the Spice Girls garnered lots of attention for their Olympic reunion.

“Stop” has a Motown feeling on it while still being pop. It is retro while being completely current. The song was on the album Spiceworld and was featured in their movie, Spiceworld. This song was the last Spice Girls’ song that featured Geri Halliwell, because she quit the band after Spiceworld.

“Too Much” is great but the music video is better. While the Spice Girls normally were together, in the “Too Much” music video, they each got their own scene. The Spice Girls wrote the song while living in the life of fame and feeling like it was too much.

“Who Do You Think You Are” was on the Spice Girls’ debut album, Spice. When filming the BRIT Awards, Ginger Spice work the Union Jack dress that is now iconic for the Spice Girls. The song helped the Spice Girls get the worldly attention and helped them become popular.

“Holler” was released on the album, Forever. It talks about sex, something that most Spice Girl songs didn’t talk about. The line “I wanna make you holler/Imagine us together” is one of the more mature lines. The song recieved rave reviews and was one of the best on the album.

After a short break, the Spice Girls came back with the song “Let Love Lead the Way.” It is an inspirational song. The lyrics “Part of me laughs/part of me cries/part of me wants to question why” show the things that girls think as they go through trouble. The song is a ballad and includes the line, “Just keep the faith/and let love lead the way.”

This song didn’t include Halliwell (Ginger Spice) because she had left the band. It received critical acclaim but was not promoted well, due to the controversy surrounding Halliwell’s absence from the band. The five girls did perform the song while reunited at a concert tour titled “Return of the Spice Girls.” Halliwell went on the tour and sang the song.

“Say You’ll Be There” was written by the Spice Girls for their first album. It discusses what they have been through together and their relationship as a band and as friends. It was infused with R&B elements and the music video showed the girls as warriors.
