The first trailer for Dracula Untold is finally here and shows the prince of darkness himself. Luke Evans plays the lead character Vlad Tepes, who turns to a dark evil to protect his family. The vampires shown so far are not the sparkly teen vampires that have been in the media for the past few years. Dracula is coming back with a vengeance.

Most of the trailer shows Evans as a human facing the armies of Dominic Cooper’s character, Mehmed. Evans is rather skilled, with impressive military prowess.
Cooper isn’t new to the vampire scene for he played a blood sucker in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Charles Dance (Game of Thrones) appears as the vampire who turns Evans into Dracula. The popularity of Game of Thornes could be the reason for the vampire movie’s medieval look, says Science Fiction.com.
The movie’s goal is to connect the story of Vlad the Impaler (whom Dracula is based off of) to the creation of Count Dracula, according to ContactMusic.com. It is an origin story that promises to be mouth-watering.
The visual effects look nice in the trailer, but the song used could have been better. Lorde’s cover of Everybody Wants to Rule the World first appeared on The Hunger Games: Catching Fire album and is now being reused for another film. Hopefully, it’ll stay in the trailer.
Dracula Untold is set to fly into theaters on October 17,2014.
