Usher has finally broken his silence regarding Justin Bieber's recent racist comments.
Usher took to his Instagram account to explain that everyone makes bad decisions and that now Bieber must make the best of the situation and become the best version of himself possible, Billboard reports.
The post reads: “As I have watched Justin Bieber navigate difficult waters as a young man, I can tell you that he hasn't always chosen the path of his greatest potential, but he is unequivocally not a racist,” he continued. “What he was 5 years ago was a naive child who did not understand the negative power and degradation that comes from playing with racial slurs. What he is now is a young man faced with an opportunity to become his best self, an example to the millions of kids that follow him to not make the same mistakes.”
Entertainment Tonight News added that this post is in response to recent videos that leaked showing the 20-year-old singer repeatedly using racial slurs.
Usher has a long history with Bieber, going back to 2009, when Usher took Bieber under his wing and started working with the soon-to-be historic pop star.
