One of film’s most beloved on-screen collaborations is about to happen all over again, as Sleepless in Seattle and You've Got Mail stars, Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, are in talks to star in another film together.
Ryan has already been confirmed, but Hanks is now in discussions to join her in the film adaptation of William Saroyan's The Human Comedy called Ithaca.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ryan will begin production in July, and she will also be directing for the first time. Hanks is already attached to the project in a behind-the-scenes capacity as executive producer.
If Ryan and Hanks do end up getting together on screen for Ithaca, it will be the first time since 1998 (You’ve Got Mail).
Access Hollywood notes it would also be their fourth collaborative effort on screen. They first worked together in Joe Versus the Volcano in 1990.
Sam Shepard, Melanie Griffith, and Jack Quaid are also signed on to appear in the film.
