Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt will be returning to the big screen together for By The Sea, which Universal snapped up the rights for, the studio announced on Friday.
The Maleficent star is currently writing the script for the film, which will put both Jolie and Pitt in front of the camera together and behind as producers, Deadline reports.
The movie studio also revealed that Jolie will direct By The Sea, which may or may not be the next movie she films.
"I am very happy to continue my relationship with Donna [Langley] and the entire Universal team as I finish Unbroken and begin work on By the Sea," Jolie said in a statement. "They have created a very special place for storytellers, and I look forward to the continued passion and support they have provided me as a filmmaker.
Currently little is known about By The Sea, notes The Telegraph, except that Universal called it an "intimate, character-driven drama."
This film will be the second she and Pitt filmed together, after Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and the fourth film Jolie has directed behind Land of Blood and Honey and the currently in-production Unbroken, which Universal co-chairman Langley brought her in to helm. She also directed the documentary A Place in Time.
