TLC's "Cake Boss” Buddy Valastro’s boat got lost in the New York Harbor due to heavy fog.
According to CNN, Valastro was on his 32-foot Boston Whaler with his family and another family, when the fog thickened and the ship became lost. New York’s fire and police department rescued the boat, named “Killin’ It,” and assisted Valastro’s crew back to a marina in New Jersey.
A local fireman told The New York Post that the area Valastro’s boat was in is “particularly hazardous due to a 24/7 shipping route." Valastro’s family was stuck for over thirty minutes on the Ambrose Channel.
Valastro told CNN that several people on the boat were seasick and his wife was panicking. Valastro, who owns Carlos’ Bakery, and is on the reality show Cake Boss, said he wanted to thank the departments in the best way he knows how.
“I want to bake them a cake. I want to do something good for them.”
Valastro tweeted about the event.
