Cameron Diaz opens up about new movie, decision not to have children to Esquire magazine

By Elizabeth Learned,

Cameron Diaz opened up in an interview with Esquire magazine and revealed why she decided not to have children.

According to ABC News, Diaz, who most recently stars in Sex Tape, revealed, “It’s so much more work to have children. To have lives beside your own that you are responsible for- I didn’t take that on. That did make things easier for me. A baby- that’s all day, every day for eighteen years.”

She admitted the decision wasn’t easy, since she is protective over others, but she didn’t feel the urge to become a mother.

In talking about her film, Diaz also revealed she gets naked for the first time in a film, but also said, “It’s just a part of the role. So I did it. I mean you see everything.”

Huffington Post reported her nude scene also features her co-star Jason Segel. The actor has gotten naked in the past for roles, including a scene from the 2007 movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall where he was full-frontal. The scene caused his mother to e-mail relatives to warn them about her son’s nudity.

In addition to her discussion on not having children, Diaz also discussed why she enjoys being 41, calling it “the best age.”

The August issue of Esquire will be out on July 8.
