Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt admitted on Jimmy Kimmel that he texted fellow co-star and former professional wrestler Dave Bautista and challenged him to a wrestling match while under the influence of Ambien.
Bautista and Pratt were with their fellow Guardians (including Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper , and Zoe Saldana) on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and Kimmel asked if Bautista – who, according to US Weekly, is the longest-reigning World Heavyweight Champion in the history of the WWE – if there was any wrestling on the set of the upcoming Marvel film. When Pratt acted embarrassed, Kimmel had to investigate.
"I get this text," Bautista explained, "Chris and I were both amateur wrestlers and I get this text one night…it's the sweetest text in the world. He's telling me how much he loves me and he says he's so proud of me. He's amazed I'm doing such a great job, and then the farther you go down…he's calling me out in this text saying he thinks he could take me and he said nobody has to know!"
Pratt insisted that he still cannot remember sending the text, for he had taken an Ambien that night. He believed that the text should have been considered equal to a “drunk text.”
Pratt then embarrassingly admitted that the match between the two had already occurred, and ended as one would expect. “We know who won!” Pratt exclaimed.
The film is planned to release on August 1. As noted by Contactmusic, the stars attended the film’s premiere at The Dolby Theatre in LA on the night of July 21.
