Daily Wrap of All Things 7/22: Beyonce shares pictures on Instagram, Billy Joel to receive George Gershwin Prize, and George Harrison tree eaten by beetles

Here is a daily wrap of all things July 22:

Pop singer Beyonce has been sharing pictures of her family online. The posts on her Instagram account have gotten plenty of notice as rumors swirl of a possible divorce. Beyonce has been showing photos of her and Jay Z swinging their child, Blue Ivy Cater. Beyonce also posted photos of her “We Can Do It!” poster.

Billy Joel will be receiving the George Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. The Library of Congress will be giving the award to the famous singer/ songwriter. Other people that have received the Prize include Paul McCartney, Paul Simon and Carole King. The award is given to songwriters who meet “the standard of excellence associated with George and Ira Gershwin.”

A George Harrison tree has been ruined by beetles. The tree was planted in 2004 in Los Angeles. The 10-foot tall tree has died due to insect infestation. No word yet on when the tree will be replanted. A beloved member of the Beatles, Harrison died in 2001. Fans think that it’s upsetting that a tree planted near the Griffith Observatory would be destroyed by beetles.

The Toronto Film Festival outlines their line-up for the upcoming year. The festival will see work by Robert Downey Jr. and Denzel Washington. World premieres from Reese Witherspoon include Wild and The Good Lie. Other premieres include Jon Stewart’s directorial debut, Rosewater and Chris Evan’s directorial debut, Before We Go. Some films from the Cannes Film Festival will also be shown at TIFF.

Fargo creator calls Allison Tolman release from the FX show “a crime.” Tolman was fired, and will not be returning for Season Two of Fargo since the show will be taking place 30 years earlier next season. Tolman played Detective Molly Solverson in the popular series. Solverson married former policeman Gus Grimley at the tail end of the first season. Fargo had a strong season with critics, earning 18 Emmy nominations.
