Dakota Johnson has earned the role of a lifetime in Fifty Shades of Grey and is already reaping the rewards, even if the movie doesn’t hit theaters for seven months. She’s just scored a new gig, starring alongside Ralph Fiennes in A Bigger Splash.
The new project will be helmed by Luca Guadagnino (I Am Love), who has also cast Tilda Swinton in the film, reports Variety.
A Bigger Splash is based on a 1969 French movie that starred Alain Delon titled La Piscine. It centers on a couple who get in a dangerous relationship with a young woman during a vacation.
David Kajganich is working on the script and filming should be underway in Italy next month.
The first footage of Johnson in Fifty Shades as Anastasia Steele debuted last week in the first trailer. It is already the most-watched trailer of 2014, earning over 36 million views.
Johnson, who went from starring in a short-lived sitcom (Ben & Kate) to being the star of one of 2015’s most anticipated films, is not the only Fifty Shades star that already has a next gig. Her co-star, Jamie Dornan, will star with Bradley Cooper and Uma Thurman in an untitled movie about a chef.
Fifty Shades opens on Valentine’s day 2015.
