Eva Green is currently in talks for a starring role in Tim Burton's Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children.
The Fox film, which is set to start production in February, will be directed by Burton, who previously worked with Green on the big screen version of Dark Shadows, Variety exclusively reports. Chernin Entertainment is on board to produce.
Jane Goldman wrote the script adapted from Ransom Riggs' 2011 YA book.
Peculiar Children follows a teenager who is transported to an island where he finds himself protecting a group of young orphans. These orphans have special powers and there are monsters looking for them.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Green, who recently starred in Showtime's Penny Dreadful, will play the title character who acts as a guardian and headmistress for the orphans on the island.
Green can also be seen in the upcoming film, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children is set for a July 31, 2015 theatrical release date.
