Iggy is doing it biggy as Iggy Azalea and Charlie XCX’s “Fancy” racked up an impressive seven weeks atop the Billboard Hot 100. This time, she joins Rihanna, Kesha, Adele, Carly Rae Jepsen and Lorde for a new record.
Azalea’s “Fancy” ties for fifth place for the longest stay at No. 1 for a female artist this decade, according to Billboard.
"We Found Love" by Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris has the most with 10 weeks. Lorde, Kesha and Carly Rae Jepson is second with their nine week runs of “Royals,” “Tik Tok” and “Call Me Maybe," respectively. “Fancy” is tied with Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep” in fifth place.
For almost every week of the seven-week frame, Iggy has broken some kind of record. During her first week, she became the first female artist to have their first two charting singles hold the No. 1 and No. 2 spot on the chart. Then, after five weeks, she tied Ashanti with the most weeks by a female artist with a claim the top two spots and last week. "Fancy" has also become the longest running No. 1 single by a female rapper.
The Idolator reports that “Rude” by MAGIC! held on at No. 2 followed by “Problem” by Ariana Grande; Niko and Wanz “Am I Wrong”; and Sam Smith’s “Stay With Me.”
Also, Maroon 5’s “Maps” entered the top 10 at No. 9.
