Comedian Joan Rivers defended Israel when she was confronted by paparazzi about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict outside of LAX.
A cameraman from TMZ captured Rivers' passionate message to the media and to the world.
“If New Jersey were firing rockets into New York, we would wipe ‘em out,” the Fashion Police host said. “If we heard they were digging tunnels from New Jersey to New York, we would get rid of Jersey.”
When asked about the Palestinian civilian casualties, Rivers explained what she believes the media has not sufficiently addressed, which is that Hamas stashes weapons in private homes, leaving Israel with no choice but to fight in these areas. She added that the media has yet to note how Israel warns these civilians in advance that the IDF is coming to destroy the weapons.
"Don’t you dare put weapon stashes in private homes, and then we say get out, of course we’re gonna do it," she said.
Rivers concluded by expressing her disappointment in the media for misrepresenting the conflict and Israel’s actions, stating that the BBC and CNN should be “ashamed of themselves.”
Currently, Israel and Hamas have agreed to a 12-hour ceasefire to begin Saturday, according to the Associated Press.
