Kansas City water park releases tallest waterslide test run video

Schlitterbahn Waterpark, located in Kansas City, has released a video of a test of its newest attraction, the Verrückt, which is set to open sometime in 2014.

Verrückt, which literally translates to “crazy” in German, as reported by MTV.com, is the tallest water slide in the world. Taller than both the Niagara Falls and the Statue of Liberty, according to the Verrückt website, the ride is the dream for ride lovers everywhere.

In order to get people excited about the big opening of the Verrückt, Schlitterbahn has now released a video of one of the ride’s first test launches with people. According to the video’s description, the two people testing the ride are designer Jeff Henry and engineer John Schooley. During their rides, the men had a point of view camera attached to the front of their rafts, so that video viewers can see what the ride will be like. Through the video, viewers can vicariously experience the first astonishing 168 foot drop of the ride, before zooming up another hill for another drop.

With a video that dramatic, one can only imagine how intense the real ride will be.
