Star Lindsay Lohan filed suit on Wednesday against the makers of the popular video game Grand Theft Auto V for creating a game character based on her without her permission.
According to Pop Dust, Lohan filed a lawsuit against the creators of Grand Theft Auto V for invading her privacy by using her likeness for a character called "Lacey Jonas." The game earned $800 million in first-day sales during its launch.
According to Newsday, 28-year-old Lohan filed the lawsuit in Manhattan. She mentioned that Jonas' character, in this fifth installment of the game from Rockstar Games, bears a voice, image and fashion likeness to her own, and that Lacey Jonas is chased relentlessly by paparazzi, just as Lohan is. She also stated that the Chateau Marmont hotel, which she at one time called home, is a game locale.
Lohan's suit claims that Jonas is an "unequivocal" reference to Lohan, according to the Associated Press.
Last year, Lohan filed a suit against rapper Pitbull for referencing her name in the song "Give Me Everything," however, the judge dismissed the lawsuit.
