Though his name has been involved with trade speculation, Matt Kemp will not be moved from the Los Angeles Dodgers. The organization has decided to keep Kemp and let the trade deadline go by.
Kemp has been producing for the Los Angeles ball club in a big way lately. He is batting .397 in an 18 game stretch, according to ESPN. He also hit a walk-off single in extra innings last night against the Atlanta Braves.
On the season, Kemp has produced 11 home runs, and 46 runs batted. Also he is batting .288, notes MLB.com.
The Dodgers are at the top of the Nation League Western Division by three games. Thanks Kemp’s recent serge, they have been able to maintain the number one spot in the division.
The San Francisco Giants are three games behind them, but they are the only competition for the Dodgers. The next closest team in the division is the San Diego Padres, who are now 12.5 games out.
