Matt Leinart responded to Dean Cain’s comments that Johnny Manziel needs to be careful so he does not end up like Leinert.
Cain, who is best known for playing Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, warned NFL rookie quarterback Manziel not to spend too much time partying with the Hollywood crowd.
“Stick to being on the D list,” said Leinart of Cain, according to TMZ. This in response to a video posted by TMZ, in which Cain said, “I’m not saying he (Leinart) can’t get ladies, but he can’t get an NFL contract.”
Leinart, a Heisman Trophy winner at USC, never found much success in the NFL, and some say it had to do with his constant partying. He played in 33 games during his six years in the NFL, throwing 15 touchdowns and 21 interceptions.
Manziel’s partying ways have been a topic of discussion since he became the first freshman to win a Heisman Trophy while the quarterback at Texas A&M back in 2012. He was in the news recently because of a picture that went viral of him rolling something in a $20 bill in a Las Vegas bathroom. According to SB Nation, Browns head coach Mike Pettine thinks stuff like this will calm down once the season starts.
