Documentary filmmaker Michael Moore’s divorce documents have become public record, causing claims of hypocrisy over his targeting the 1 percent although he lived a similar lifestyle.
Moore, who’s famous for documentaries like Fahrenheit 911, Sicko and Capitalism: A Love Story, just finalized his divorce from his wife of 22 years, Kathleen Glynn, showing the couple owned nine homes.
“He criticizes capitalism, but capitalism made him rich,” a business owner and one of his neighbors in Michigan told Detroit News.
Moore’s net worth is reported to be around $50 million.
The divorce documents show the couple owned a $2 million, 10,000 sq. ft. mansion in Michigan and they fought over Glynn’s plans to expand the luxury home into what it is now. Moore goes back and forth from his homes in New York and Michigan.
On Tuesday, he posted a statement to Facebook, announcing their divorce is final with Bruce Springsteen’s “Rosalita” attached to the post as well.
"Kathleen and Michael have mutually and amicably reached a divorce settlement,” he wrote.
The couple reportedly separated in 2010 and have no children together.
