New ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ teaser released for Fourth of July

By Aubrie Reichardt,

A new teaser was released for the movie Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and features the apes overthrowing America. While released on the Fourth of July, there is no sign of America having any kind of independence in the upcoming film.

American flags are waving in the city of San Francisco with so many scared Americans running from the monstrous monkeys. In the background, one can hear a familiar speech given by John F. Kennedy in 1962 at the Independence Hall in Philadelphia according to Cinema Blend. The teaser trailer is to both promote the movie and celebrate this national holiday. The teaser ends with the special hashtag #FourthofApes.

The movie features a war between humans and apes as they fight to determine which of them will rule the planet, according to SuperHeroHype. Some of those starring in the film are Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke, Keri Russell and Andy Serkis as the ape leader Caesar.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes conquers theaters next week on July 11.
