Former Olympian and murder suspect Oscar Pistorius was involved in an altercation at a night club in Johannesburg on Saturday evening.
The Associated Press reported that Pistorius’ family members confirmed that the 27-year-old was involved in an argument after a man approached him and began asking questions about his murder trial.
The man involved in the altercation with Pistorius at the posh club painted a different picture for the Johannesburg Star. He said that the double amputee appeared to have had too much to drink and made rude comments about him and his friends. The man also claimed that Pistorius poked him in the chest.
Whether or not Pistorius did or did not start the fight, being out at a night club during his very public murder trial probably wasn't a good idea to begin with.
The South-African sprinter is stranding trial for the fatal shooting of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. Prosecutors claim that the athlete intentionally shot Steenkamp after the two had a fight on Valentine’s Day last year. Pistorius, however claims that he only shot the model after mistaking her for an intruder.
Just last week, the defense wrapped up its case in the months-long trial and court was adjourned until Aug. 7, when closing arguments are expected to start.
Pistorius has pleaded not guilty to murder and weapon charges.
