Russell Brand continued his critique of Fox News, posting a new video that aims directly at host Sean Hannity. In the video, Brand gives a commentary on a recent Hannity segment, in which the host asked Palestinian-American Yousef Munayyer if he thought Hamas was a terrorist group.
Brand started the video off by noting, “I don't mean to be petty or trivial but Hannity looks like the Ken doll from Toy Story 3.”
Obviously, that was just the start, notes Huffington Post U.K. As the comedian went on, he noted how Hannity’s logo looks like a “police badge” and that Hannity makes it clear right away that he wants to be unreasonable by yelling at his guests.
“Sean's not a solution-based guy,” Brand observes. “Sean's not thinking 'we want peace, what we should we do to get peace?' He's thinking 'We want conflict. What can I say to exacerbate conflict?'”
Later, Brand noted, “He's not interested in truth. Sean Hannity is only interested in pushing a perspective. You might say 'so are you Russell' and I am. But that perspective is this - peace.”
Of course, Hannity was not going to take this laying down. On his show, Hannity called Brand a “D-list actor better known for his failed marriage to Katy Perry.” Hannity later considered Brand’s comments ignorant.
Back in June, Brand made headlines for another Fox News critique, slamming commentator Jeanine Pirro’s speech on how to combat ISIS in Iraq.
