At this year's World Cup, FIFA committee members took the tournament to a new level by bringing in performers to contribute to an opening and closing ceremony, similar to the performances at the Super Bowl and Olympics. While Jennifer Lopez, Pitbull and Brazilian pop star Claudia Leitte gave what some say was a mediocre performance at the opening ceremony, Shakira took the show Sunday night at the closing ceremony when she performed her newest single “La La La (Brazil 2014).”
The singer has performed in two previous World Cups, singing “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” in South Africa in 2010 and “Hips Don’t Lie” in Germany in 2006, reports The Independent.
According to The Daily Mail, J Lo, Pitbull and Claudia’s performance of “We Are One (Ole Ola)” was not very impressive, claiming there had to have been better ideas as to how to kick off the anticipated tournament.
Shakira performed alongside Brazilian artist Carlinhos Brown, who was sporting a black-feathered costume with Shakira in a sexy red outfit.
Not sure if Shakira truly outperformed J Lo? Decide for yourself!
